LibriVox volunteers record chapters of books in the public domain and release the audio files back onto the net. Our goal is to make all public domain books available as free audio books.
I love Audiobooks. I listen to them at work. Mostly “stolen” copyright material I’ve taken from the torrent networks just for filler when I’ve run out of Howard Stern, but they get the odd play when I just don’t want to listen to music. It’s good to know there’s a resource with not only a huge collection of work, but since it’s all public domain, it’s completely legal. Not like anyone’s ever been chased down for pirating audiobooks. Somehow I don’t think the RIAA cares about that.
