I just downloaded the Firefox 2.0 Beta and installed AdBlock Plus, which filters ads out of websites before they’re even downloaded. As much as I love this functionality, it leads me to a question:
If you really like an ad-supported website, (like Digg) shouldn’t you give them the ad views that they need to get revenue? Or do they get money regardless of traffic? I would think they would get money based on “Hey, we get 3000 visitors an hour, so you give us X amount of money. If we get more than that we get bonuses based on certain points of visitorship, otherwise we make less.”
I guess I just feel bad taking something without giving. But that’s never stopped me from doing other questionable things.
